This month, HydroTerra ran a Groundwater Sampling Workshop at Fosterville Mine proving that training was not only provided to new staff, but there’s also great value even for experienced field teams who need to brush up on their knowledge and skills. Despite regularly conducting groundwater sampling, the Fosterville team embraced the chance to refresh core techniques, refine consistency, and explore alternative methods.

The workshop covered best practice sampling, QA/QC, while also revisiting different ways to collect samples. It introduced new equipment options and prompted discussion on how updated tools and processes could improve efficiency and data reliability for the mine site.

What stood out was the team’s openness to rethinking routine approaches and aligning methods across their group. It highlighted a key message: there is always room to improve, compare techniques, and stay current with continuously evolving standards.

HydroTerra’s sampling workshops provide a practical, discussion-based format that supports continuous improvement, no matter how experienced the team. Reliable groundwater data starts with consistent and informed practice in the field. We can come to your site and carry out the workshops there so that you receive hands on training at the exact location from which you will do your future sampling.
