Description
Low flow sampling involves extracting groundwater at rates comparable to ambient groundwater flow (typically less than 500 ml/min), so that the drawdown of the water level is minimized, and the mixing of stagnant water with water from the screened intake area in a well is reduced.
Stabilization of parameters (pH, D.O., conductivity, temperature, etc.) and turbidity of the purged water are monitored before a sample is taken, thus low flow methods facilitate equilibrium with the surrounding formation and produce samples that are truly representative of the formation water.
Bladder Pumps have a low flow capability and ensure that no drive gas comes into contact with sample water, making them ideal, and approved by regulators worldwide for VOC sampling. Select a Bladder Pump for higher regulator acceptance and lower flow rates.
Double Valve Pumps provide greater flow rates, as well as low flow capabilities, better performance in silty water, and are low maintenance, with no bladder to replace and fewer parts to decontaminate. Select a Double Valve Pump for faster purging, and operation in harsher environments.
Low Flow Sampling Kits consist of a pump, controller, compressor or regulator and Tagline.
Our rental kits include a Water Quality and Water Level, Drawdown, or Interface Meter. Our rental fleet also offer the SamplePro Bladder Pump.
