Description

The Solinst Readout Unit (SRU) is an in-field device designed to take and display instant water level readings from a deployed Solinst datalogger.

When connected, you can also select a real-time sampling rate and start a real-time monitoring session independent of the datalogger’s internal logging mode. Real-time logs can be saved in the SRU memory.

The SRU has an internal barometer, which provides the option of showing and saving real-time water level readings corrected to ambient air pressure.

The SRU also functions as a data download and storage device. It has a robust flash memory allowing you to download and save multiple log files from a number of dataloggers. Saved log files can be viewed on the SRU and transferred to a PC.

The SRU provides access to useful information about the connected datalogger’s status, including battery level, memory, serial number, firmware version, and logging mode, as well as the SRU status.

How the Solinst Readout Unit Works:
The SRU connects to a Levelogger’s Direct Read Cable, a LevelVent Wellhead, or AquaVent Wellhead connector cable.

Using push-buttons, it is easy to power-on and navigate through all SRU menu options. The LCD screen contrast is adjustable to ensure easy viewing in any field condition.

To transfer data files to a PC, the SRU connects using a USB cable. Levelogger Software is used to download, view, export, delete data and set up dataloggers. Through the Software, the SRU has upgradable firmware, which allows for future improvements and compatibility with new dataloggers.

Features and Benefits of the SRU:
– Convenient and portable
– Clear LCD screen for viewing readings and setting up real-time logging
– Connects to a Levelogger’s Direct Read Cable, or LevelVent or AquaVent Wellhead
– Real-time logging and data download does not interrupt running datalogger
– Useful when conducting aquifer tests
– Quick way to check the status of a deployed datalogger
– Uses one replaceable 9V battery
– User-upgradable firmware

High Quality Groundwater and Surface Water Monitoring Instrumentation

In 1975, Solinst began as a small reseller of geotechnical instruments. Through the early 1980’s, founder Doug Belshaw reshaped Solinst into a successful manufacturer of high quality groundwater and surface water monitoring equipment. Doug started by producing the Model 101 Water Level Meter, which provided the first, flexible polyethylene tape with an engineering scale (marked in tenths and feet).

Over the next 30 years, the Solinst product line developed into a full range of instruments, sold worldwide. Products include water level meters, interface meters, groundwater samplers, multilevel groundwater monitoring systems, remediation equipment, drive-point piezometers, and dataloggers and telemetry. In 1996, Solinst introduced the Levelogger® water level datalogger – the first combined absolute pressure sensor and datalogger in the industry.

As the Solinst brand grew, the company expanded to its current home in Georgetown, Ontario. With Jim Pianosi now as president, Solinst remains a successful and stable family-owned business in Canada.

HydroTerra has been working with Solinst as their exclusive representative in Australia for over a decade. Clients in Australia benefit greatly from the long-term collaboration between the two companies, and the superior technical and sales support they receive from such an experienced distributor.
