It’s time to consider a more practical outcome for our closed landfill sites in Melbourne and consider options for development on and adjoining the sites. We need to be smarter about the way we prepare for and rehabilitate old landfills to optimise their long-term benefits and offset the ongoing cost to Private Operators and Local Councils to monitor and maintain these Closed Landfill sites.
