Reflections on the Yarra
Presenters:
What are we doing about letting rivers be rivers?
Our waterways face a crisis and that crisis is a lack of water. A recent government assessment said that the amount of water in our waterways has declined by 20 per cent, that is the Yarra and every other river south of the divide.
Melbourne Water says platypus will disappear from most of Melbourne’s catchments by 2030. So, what are we doing to address this?
In this conversation, Andrew and Richard chatted about the Yarra River Protection Act, the Sustainable Water Strategy, Waterways of the West and the Barwon Initiative to help answer the question: “Is the government going to deliver real change?”
Also discussed was “Why did Andrew Kelly resign from the best job in the world?”
