Earlier this month, HydroTerra Managing Director Richard Campbell presented at the Australian Freshwater Sciences Society (AFSS) conference in Batemans Bay, New South Wales. The theme of the conference was Environmental Change: Fire, Floods and Country which spanned across five days, hosting some of Australia’s leading ecologists.
Richard presented on HydroTerra’s work with The Mulloon Institute on the rehydration of Mulloon Creek and where landscape rehydration makes sense. While a lot of speakers talked on the precariousness of our native ecologies, Richard noted an overriding sense of hope as Australia’s best and brightest scientists begin to collaborate and work together to strive for a more environmentally sustainable future.
The AFSS is an Australian-based scientific society whose focus is the study of, and management of inland waters. Membership is made up of scientists, managers, engineers, teachers and tertiary level students interested in inland aquatic issues, the maintenance of biodiversity, the restoration of water quality and the use of aquatic resources.
Thank you to the AFSS for hosting such a brilliant conference.
