Description

ExactBlue Aquavial COLI is an easy-to-use screening test to detect the presence of Coliform bacteria. 24 hour incubation time, detection limit 1 CFU/mL. (Not available with EB1 Wireless Reader).

Where the test procedure can incubate samples at 35-40 C for 24 hours, a positive detection indicates primarily faecal coliforms (which prefer body temperature). If the procedure incubates at room temperature, a positive detection implies non-faecal total coliforms.

Aquavial COLI is suitable for use in fresh water, or brine up to 5% salt.

This is a semi-quantitative screening test, designed for early detection for the presence of coliform bacteria in water samples. It is not a substitute for certified laboratory tests required by regulations covering drinking water or medical use applications.

Coliform presence is an indicator of water being contaminated with wild or farmed animal faeces, and can pose serious health risks. The World Health Organization recommends that drinking and recreational water contain less than 1 CFU/ml of coliform bacteria (and E.Coli).

Shelf Life 2 years. Store away from direct sunlight.
