Late in 2024, Solinst Canada Ltd announced the acquisition of Flexible Liner Underground Technologies (FLUTe). The new organization will do business as Solinst Flute LLC.
Solinst and FLUTe are very well known to one another. They have long been friendly competitive manufacturers of Multilevel Groundwater Monitoring Systems for many years . As the manufacturer of the Waterloo Multilevel System for over 40 years, and the CMT Multilevel System since 1999, Solinst is in a great position to grow that field with the acquisition of FLUTe. This is a great opportunity, enabling Solinst Canada to offer clients the most options and the best technologies for multilevel groundwater monitoring projects around the world.
One of the products offered by Solinst FLUTe is the Water Flute. Since 1996, the Water Flute has been a trusted technology for high-quality multilevel groundwater monitoring. It is designed for depth-discrete groundwater monitoring and head measurement in both overburden and bedrock assessments. Some key features include:
- Uses a flexible liner to seal boreholes, except at sampling intervals
- Can include 15+ monitoring ports, depending on borehole diameter
- Each port has a gas-driven pump for collecting groundwater samples
- Manual or automated water level measurements can be taken at each port
- Compatible with boreholes from 4 to over 19” in diameter (10 cm to over 48 cm)
- Installed to depths of 425 m (1,400 ft)
This is an exciting time for one of HydroTerra’s key suppliers and we would like to congratulate Solinst on this important acquisition.
