Final Webinar for 2025! Join us for a special Webinar on Salinity and groundwater impact assessment.
24 November 2025
We’ve teamed up with the IAH Australia – Victoria Branch to bring you a feature presentation with Tetra Tech’s Mark Hocking (BSc, GDip, MSc, PhD), a principal hydrogeologist with 30 years of experience in salinity investigations, groundwater modelling, mining hydrogeology and environmental impact assessment.
In this webinar, we’ll trace salinity from its origins through to today’s most advanced modelling and management tools. Highlights include:
• How salinity occurs and its history across Victoria, including insights from the Northern Victorian deep leads
• Key findings from the State Observation Bore Network and investigations spanning the 1960s to the 2000s
• An update on current groundwater and salinity conditions
• A look at next-generation forecasting approaches such as IRF (Pastas/Hydrosight), MODFLOW 6, FEFLOW, ENSI uncertainty analysis, and spatial/temporal P5–P95 assessments
We’ll wrap up with a practical overview of modern salinity management from mid-1990s irrigation and resource changes to MDBA EC trading, catchment modelling, and adaptive tools like trigger-response action plans.
