Flux boxes are particularly valuable for high-precision, point-scale investigations. They excel at identifying emission “hotspots,” validating models, and supporting compliance spot checks where detailed, spatially resolved data is required. While they aren’t designed to provide whole-of-site, continuous emissions estimates (which are better suited to methods such as eddy covariance, tracer testing or long-term bore networks), they play an essential role in targeted surveys and investigative work.
