A warm thank you to Dr Bruce Lindsay for his insightful and thought-provoking presentation on the concept of a ‘waterway’ in Victorian water law. Bruce offered a compelling examination of how this foundational legal term is being interpreted in Tribunal decisions and how it both shapes and limits current regulatory frameworks.

His reflections on the ecological scope of the term and its intersection with innovative legal developments—particularly those recognising rivers as living entities and honouring Aboriginal law and tradition—provided an important platform for discussion and future thinking.
