Microbial monitoring for groundwater remediation and enhanced site management | Sam Rosolina & Richard Campbell
Presenters:
Microbial monitoring is an important piece of conceptual site modelling, but it is often left out. This webinar provides information on the tools and analyses that make it easier to incorporate microbial data into conceptual site modelling so as to better understand what’s happening in the subsurface at a contaminated site.
Sam Rosolina is an environmental chemist and VP of Applied Innovation at Microbial Insights. One of his main interests is ensuring that cutting-edge technologies are still accessible and easy to incorporate within the environmental restoration industry.
Microbial Insights has been leading enhanced microbial monitoring for more than 30 years. Its goal is to provide unbiased, actionable data that allows site managers, environmental engineers, and regulators to determine the best path forward for a remediation plan. No matter what the primary strategy is – even if the approach is aggressive chemical oxidation or thermal treatment – there are likely organisms present that are helping to degrade the contaminants of interest as well. Detecting and documenting these helpful microbes can only enhance a conceptual site model, and Microbial Insights provides the tools to do that.
