Versatile AquaRead AP-6000 offers smallest self-cleaning unit

Easy maintenance proves a popular feature for multiparameter probe

The Aquaread AP-6000 is a versatile multiparameter water quality probe that can be used for spot monitoring as part of a package or for permanent deployments thanks to its new, much smaller self-cleaning mechanism. Typically, this product gets used in groundwater and surface water applications, particularly where there is high sediment build up or dissolved gas in the water. The self-cleaning mechanism can also be removed and exchanged by the end user, saving on on-going maintenance.

The AP-6000 comes with all the common water quality testing sensors pre-fitted to the probe. These are pH, ORP, Conductivity, TDS, SSG, Resistivity, Salinity, Optical Dissolved Oxygen, Depth and Temperature. The probe also has four auxiliary sockets that can house either an Ion Selective Electrode (ISE) or an Optical Sensor. Turbidity is an example of a commonly used optical sensor in the AP-6000.

Two of the key features of the AP-6000 is its smaller size and the compact self-cleaning system. With a diameter of only 55mm, the smallest self-cleaning Aquaprobe, it is suitable for deployment in smaller bores. The smaller removable central cleaning arm of the AP-6000 consists of a rotating set of brushes that clean all the connected sensors, including the EC sensor located on the side of the optical DO probe. The cleaning arm, featuring a small motor inside, can be easily unscrewed for maintenance, brush replacement and cleaning. Brushes rotate in both directions ensuring even wear and longer life.

The AP-6000 is available as a package, including the Aquaprobe, GPS Aquameter, 3m cable, rugged carry case and accessories, making it ideal for spot monitoring. Alternatively, it can be used with the Aqualogger or other telemetry system for medium- to long-term monitoring. The AP-6000 can be permanently deployed at 30m in long-term applications or up to 100m depth for a period of 12 hours.
