Air pollution is an increasingly critical domain for environmental monitoring, regulatory compliance, and public health.

The Ostara Air Quality Monitoring Station by NKE Instrumentation is a robust and flexible solution for air-quality measurement. It’s design combines rugged hardware, modular sensing, and smart data connectivity, making it especially suited to deployment in challenging environments. Whether for industrial emissions monitoring, environmental research, or remote air-quality networks, Ostara offers a powerful tool for understanding and managing the quality of the air we breathe.

The Ostara station is housed in a fiberglass-reinforced polyester enclosure, giving it strength, corrosion resistance, and durability.

It has an IP66 rating, meaning it’s highly resistant to dust and water ingress which is critical for outdoor deployment.

Its IK10 impact resistance, means it can withstand significant mechanical stress.
The station can run autonomously on solar power (PV + battery) or via 230 V AC with battery backup.
Mounting is flexible as it has options for pole, wall, or fence attachment, making it suitable for many scenarios.

One of Ostara’s strengths is its broad sensor capability.
Integrated Parameters includes:

Dust: PM 1, PM 2.5, and PM 10.
Temperature, Relative Humidity, Atmospheric Pressure.
GPS: provides location (latitude, longitude, altitude).

It also supports external modules:

Ultrasonic anemometer: to measure wind speed (0.12–40 m/s) and direction (0–359°).

WiMo multiparameter sonde: for water quality parameters (temperature, pressure, conductivity, turbidity, pH, etc.)Remote control via RS485 Modbus cable.

The station supports plug-and-play smart gas sensors. These are interchangeable on site, automatically recognized, and have temperature compensation.

Standard gas sensors include:

Carbon Monoxide (CO),

Hydrogen Sulphide (H₂S),

Ammonia (NH₃),

Nitrogen Dioxide (NO₂),

Oxygen (O₂),

Ozone (O₃),

Sulphur Dioxide (SO₂),

Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs),

Odors.

Additional gases are available on request (CH4S, HCHO, HCN, H2, PH3, Br2, ClO2, Cl2, F2, HCl, HF).
