BOM metadata standards provides useful tool

When managing an ecosystem of technology suppliers and federating data through scripting, application programming interface (APIs) and hosting, tracking data provenance is critical. Equally important is adopting standards of reporting that have units of measurement that are internationally recognised and meet standards.
