Operational efficiencies to reach sustainable outcomes
25 January 2023To kick off our year we thought we would look to inspire through example. A webinar delivered by Zoos Victoria and their drive to achieve sustainability. The webinar covered how they are improving operational efficiencies and reducing environmental impacts at Zoos Victoria through better management of water, carbon, waste and energy. It was an impressive example of policies, environmental management systems, infrastructure projects, monitoring and reporting in alignment, achieving better performance.
Of particular interest to me was the focus on the importance of monitoring metrics that reflect and inform better performance and reporting at a scale that matches the management performance of the particular operational component. While it is not always easy to answer the questions “what, where and why are we measuring?”, they are all critical to the success of any monitoring program. HydroTerra facilitates getting these answers for our clients to design and configure bespoke monitoring systems that deliver trustworthy reporting.
My wish for us all in 2023, is that it be filled with accurate data that enables improved performance and sustainability!
