Tech for sustainability available NOW
17 August 2023There is no doubt community awareness and concern with climate change is growing; dramatic floods and catastrophic fires remind us that things are different now…It would be easy to panic.
However, in my world of environmental monitoring, the recent months have provided great reason for hope. The One Basin CRC brought together many of our finest engineers and scientists at Lake Hume (a beautiful place) to adopt the processes needed to solve the future of the Murray Darling Basin and irrigated agriculture. In addition, recent presenters in the HydroTerra webinar series have shown us some readily available technologies capable of reducing the waste sector greenhouse gas emissions through improved landfill gas extraction systems, and biochar production. And at the recent AusIMM mining conference we learnt there’s multiple new technology driven solutions to improve sustainability in mining.
We’ve been doing our bit too, developing a new range of integrated modular systems which we’re excited to launch in the coming weeks.
My message is that we have the technology to be vastly more sustainable than we are currently, let’s get on and implement it!
